Compiled by the Fengshui Zen editors · About and method
癸巳 is pillar 30 of the sixty: the yin water stem 癸 Gui over the Snake branch 巳 Si. The last 癸巳 year was 2013 and the next is 2073; the next 癸巳 day is Nov 15, 2026. The San Ming Tong Hui gives it the image of water that never stops, flowing into the sea, and it shares the Na Yin Long River Water (长流水) with 壬辰.

Why its Na Yin is called 长流水, from 「论纳音取象」
势极东南…水得归库,盈科后进
Its force reaches the southeast; the water returns to its store and moves on only after filling each hollow.

FAQ
Is 癸巳 a good or bad pillar?
Not on its own; that depends on the whole chart, which this site does not read. Structurally, Gui has no root in 巳, which clashes with 亥 and combines with 申.
What is the Na Yin of Gui Si?
Long River Water (长流水), which Gui Si shares with 壬辰 Ren Chen; the Na Yin names go in pairs, 30 for the 60 pillars. The San Ming Tong Hui explains how the name was chosen in its 论纳音取象 section, quoted above.
Which years are Gui Si (癸巳) years?
Between 1900 and 2100: 1953, 2013, 2073. Each starts at Lichun, around February 4, not on January 1. Under the Chinese New Year rule the same years are the Year of the Yin Water Snake.
