丁亥 is pillar 24 of the sixty: the yin fire stem 丁 Ding over the Pig branch 亥 Hai. The last 丁亥 year was 2007 and the next is 2067; the next 丁亥 day is Nov 9, 2026. The San Ming Tong Hui gives it the image of an open plain, and it shares the Na Yin Rooftop Earth (屋上土) with 丙戌.

Why its Na Yin is called 屋上土, from 「论纳音取象」
气成物府,事以美圆
Its qi has become a storehouse of things and its work is complete; the chapter adds that rooftop earth is earth whose work is done, and so it rests.
Its Na Yin against the facing one, 沙中土 (丙辰 and 丁巳)
沙中屋上,干湿互用,变化始终也
Sand and Rooftop: dry and damp used in turn, change from beginning to end.

FAQ
Is 丁亥 a good or bad pillar?
Not on its own; that depends on the whole chart, which this site does not read. Structurally, Ding has no root in 亥, which clashes with 巳 and combines with 寅.
What is the Na Yin of Ding Hai?
Rooftop Earth (屋上土), which Ding Hai shares with 丙戌 Bing Xu; the Na Yin names go in pairs, 30 for the 60 pillars. The San Ming Tong Hui explains how the name was chosen in its 论纳音取象 section, quoted above.
Which years are Ding Hai (丁亥) years?
Between 1900 and 2100: 1947, 2007, 2067. Each starts at Lichun, around February 4, not on January 1. Under the Chinese New Year rule the same years are the Year of the Yin Fire Pig.
